Caerphilly IT firm makes top management list

Team Metalogic, a technology services company based in Caerphilly, has been named one of the best-managed IT firms in the UK.
Compiled by the Institute of Directors, the Top 50 List vigorously scrutinised companies with over 200 questions about their management processes.
Successful participants took part in a three-month application process, and the results were announced at a ceremony in London last month. Team Metalogic is the only Welsh firm included on the list.
Mike Parfitt, managing director of the company, said he’s honoured to be included on the list. “In nearly 15 years of running the business this certainly ranks as one of our greatest achievement,” he commented.
“To be considered as a top 50 firm across the whole of the UK is incredibly satisfying, especially as we’re flying the flag for Wales.”
He attended the ceremony along with technical director, Marc Ranford. They accepted the award at a time when the business is going through impressive growth.
“As we approach our 15th birthday, the business really is reaping the rewards of years of hard graft, dedications and honest and open ethics when it comes to how we work with our clients,” continued Parfitt.
“We don’t build this business on selling what can make us the most money, we build it on what is best for the client. As a result, that enables us to keep clients happy, compliant and with an IT system that works for them; not our billing targets.
Parfitt explained that his company went through a rigorous selection process. “Throughout the 200-question process for this award, we were able to put our systems under the microscope,” he said.
“That in itself was worthwhile. We were able to really hone in on what makes us different from our competitors, as well as reaffirm our values as a business.
He added: “This award highlights that we are vindicated in our decision to always put the clients’ needs and objectives first. I am incredibly proud that we are entering our 15th year with such esteemed recognition.
“We have game-changing plans for 2018 and this is an excellent springboard for us to use over the next 12 months.”
Mike founded the company in 2003, and 13 years later, the company has expanded from its base in Caerphilly Business Park. It currently employs seven people.
