by Nicholas Fearn , September 24
Economy Minister Edwina Hart is to speak at Venturefest Wales 2015, which will take place at Cardiff’s SWALEC stadium next Tuesday, September 29th.
The one-day conference will bring together innovators, investors and entrepreneurs and promote the ethos of collaboration. Representatives from SMEs and budding entrepreneurs will also be put in contact with investors who could provide financial backing for their businesses.
There’ll be a series of workshops and seminars looking at issues crucial to businesses and innovators, including how to access funding and develop your business.
Allister Frost, the former head of digital marketing at Microsoft, has already been announced as the conference’s main speaker.
Hart said: “Venturefest is an opportunity for a variety of businesses, entrepreneurs, innovators and investors to meet and discuss ideas.
“This year’s event will focus on collaboration and the life sciences sector, one of the Welsh Government’s key sectors for growth. Now in its third year in Wales, I’m sure this year’s event will be a valuable experience for all the delegates.”
John Francis, chair of the Steering Group at Venturefest Wales, said: “Last year, Venturefest Wales attracted more than 700 people through the doors and from the number of delegates already registered to attend, we are expecting this year to be even bigger and better.
“The speaker line-up for our 2015 event is extremely exciting with the likes of Allister Frost offering tangible business insight and inspiration to our delegates.
“Venturefest really is a one-of-a-kind event for Wales as it brings together businesses of all shapes and sizes and connects them with investors and innovators who have the funds and ideas that could take their company to the next level. I’d urge all start-ups, small and medium-sized business owners to sign-up while places are still available.”
