Facial recognition tech firm celebrates first anniversary
Credas, which has developed a facial recognition platform to speed up identity verification in a range of sectors, is celebrating its first anniversary.
The Cardiff-based tech start-up began with just two employees, but it’s grown to a team of fourteen people in the past few months. It’s also recruiting for new account management and sales staff.
As well as this, more than 50 customers are using its facial recognition and identity verification technology. These include firms in the estate agency, accountancy, legal, recruitment and construction sectors.
Over the past year, Credas also secured its first cryptocurrency client as well as formed partnerships with the Estate Agent of the Year Awards and The Guild of Property Professionals.
This month, the company was shortlisted for three prizes at the upcoming Wales Online Digital Awards, including Best Mobile App, Best Digital Start-Up and Best Emerging Technology.
Rhys David, CEO of Credas, said: “It’s been an exceptional year for us and we’ve managed to surpass all expectations we had for our first year in business.
“We’ve got a great product team in place, and behind it all is an exceptional team – we really believe we have developed the best facial recognition and identity verification technology in the marketplace and are fulfilling a genuine business need.”
The Credas software suite has been designed to cut the time and cost it takes to verify over 4000 different types of identification. It provides an easy, secure way to match ID photos with real people, too.
“Our technology can help any business where a customer needs to be verified and we’ve developed a quick and easy way to help businesses fulfil this, with the peace of mind that they’re compliant and that the data is fully secure,” added David.
“I’ve been really excited about the technology since day one and it’s been even better to see it integrated into different sectors. We have also just secured our first cryptocurrency client which is another exciting area of development for us and the technology.”
