Former BBC art director joins Welsh tech marketing firm

Cohesive, a technology marketing agency based in Chepstow, has appointed former BBC art director Natalie Connell as its first ever visual storyteller.

In her new role, she’ll expand Cohesive’s services to technology companies around the country and help develop the firm’s new branding. It’s set to roll out soon.

Previously, Connell spent five years working at the BBC, where she guided crews working on drama productions such as Doctor Who, Casualty and Pobol Y Cwm. Her work spanned areas such as art, graphics and design.

Connell said she’s excited to support Cohesive in transforming its brand. “This is an exciting time for Cohesive, as the business unites behind a new purpose, vision and values,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to bringing a visual element to the stories we’re telling for the founders, leaders and marketers of tech businesses.”

Andy Williams, joint managing director of Cohesive, explained that Natalie forms part of his company’s ambitious expansion plans.”Natalie is a great addition to our team, and her role is an important part of our future,” he said.

“We’ve put Wales on the map for tech businesses all over the world over the last twenty years. Now we’re doing something a little different – helping the good guys to tell their story to customers who want a little more authenticity and honesty in the brands they buy from.”

Jon Bawden, a director at Cohesive, said the company has spent the last few months coming up with a new brand strategy. In particular, it wants to tap into the lucrative tech market.

“A big part of this ‘new Cohesive’ has been re-discovering our why and the various things we’ve learnt and processes we’ve worked through to get to this point. It’s been pretty enlightening,” he told Tech Dragons.

“Now we have done this for ourselves we really want to help tech firms in Wales (and further afield) to discover their purpose, craft their story and share it with the world.”
