Global cyber security giant to hold event in Wales
Global tech giant Clearswift has teamed up with non-profit GlobalWelsh to host a masterclass for ten of Wales’ fastest-growing cyber security firms.
Set to take place on January 28th at St David’s Hotel in Cardiff, the event will allow the businesses to explore ideas and solutions for their growth challenges.
Hosted by Clearswift CEO Heath Davies, it will bring together business leaders from Pervade Software, Hut Six Security, Awen Collective, WolfBerry, Prizsm Technologies, Fortium Tech, Westgate Cyber Security, Charmwood Risk Management, Cybata and Security Foundry.
John Davies, from Cyber Wales, said: “Wales has the fastest growing digital economy outside of London, as well as the largest globally recognised cyber ecosystem in the UK, so we know that there is a huge opportunity here in Wales,” he commented.
“It’s fantastic to have a grassroots initiative like GlobalWelsh which can connect companies in the Welsh Cyber Clusters with leading people in industry who can provide a different perspective and bring valuable knowledge to the table.”
With more than 30 years working in the cyber security sector, Heath has held the positions of CEO at Alterian PLC and Sword Group PLC – and is now leading Clearswift.
He said: “I have always looked for ways in which I could give back and GlobalWelsh has given me a platform to do this.
“Wales is clearly rich in tech talent and has great potential in the cyber security space. I am looking forward to spending time with these companies, listening to their stories, their challenges, and sharing my knowledge and experiences with them.”
Walter May, CEO of GlobalWelsh, added: “It’s time for Wales to capitalise on the power of its diaspora. One of the ways to do this is by harnessing the wealth of worldly knowledge and experience of expats like Heath with businesses here in Wales,” he commented.
“These sorts of opportunities are only available through the cultivation of connections and the building of community networks which is what we’re here to do. I want to thank Heath for his continued support as a Founding Patron and for providing this unique and valuable opportunity.”
