Leading co-working space for creatives closes

FoundersHub, a Cardiff-Based co-working space for creatives and freelancers, is to close down.

The news was announced by the organisation on its official blog and comes at a time when Wales’s co-working scene is rapidly expanding.

In the blog, the organisation’s founders, Craig and Amie Lockwood, explain that the space has been tackling building and connectivity issues.

It’s also noted that they run a separate business – Five Simple Steps, a service that lets you design books on the web – which they’re looking to focus on.

Despite this, they’re aware of the what they’ve achieved since launching in October 2013.

They say: “What started off as a crazy idea and blog post has gone on to support lots of local businesses, created friendships that will last for a long long time, and brought together creatives from all sorts of disciplines.

“Cardiff has always had a great creative community, but people were working in silos. The Hub has brought people together, and we are immensely proud of what we have achieved in such a short time.”

It’ll be missed by many.
