New marketing chief for Cardiff-based telco

TWL Voice and Data, which is one of Wales’s fastest growing telecoms companies, has appointed a new marketing chief.

Gemma Angharad Morris joins the firm as head of business development and marketing, bringing with her a background in the unified communications sector.

In her last role, she managed nearly 400 clients and was responsible for a six-figure budget. At TWL, she’ll ensure that the brand is maintained and oversee growth in Wales as well as further afield.

The firm currently employs 18 staff, who work with 500 businesses, including Cardiff Metropolitan University, The Port of Milford Haven, Cardiff Blues and retailer JoJo Maman Bebe. Last year, it announced growth of 28 per cent and £2.1 million turnover.

It expects to grow even further this year. The forecast for the end of 2016 is set at £2.4 million, and there are a number of further acquisitions planned. By 2018, the business plans to employ a team of 30 recording £5 million turnover.

Speaking of her new role, the former Chartered Institute of Marketing Student of the Year said: “TWL Voice and Data is respected by its customers for its passion for flawless customer service; my role is to ensure our brand is maintained in this regard as well as overseeing the continued growth of the firm in Wales and further afield.

“It is a very exciting time to join the business as it aims to dominate the telecoms market over the next five years. There are a lot of challenges ahead, and I look forward to working with the team in overcoming these as well as creating some headaches for competitors by furthering our client-first approach.”

Regarding the appointment, MD Andrew Nicholson, said: “Gemma is a huge coup for us and I have no doubt that she will be a fantastic addition to our team. Her immediate role will cover all manner of new business for our multiple divisions from fixed line to security, but she will be working on long term, strategies alongside myself to help us achieve our ambitious growth targets.”
