Smart lighting company announces new appointment
Lightology Ltd, a smart lighting company based in Newport, has hired a new operations manager in a bid to drive growth across South Wales and abroad.
Richard Sugarman, who has worked in sectors such as retail and technology, will lead the company’s daily operations. His main aim will be to introduce the firm to new markets.
Founded in 2016, Lightology works with shops, office buildings, sports stadiums, hotels, warehouses and factories to help them review their energy use.
Firstly, customers take part in a free survey, and then Lightology’s experts explore how they can benefit from LED technology. They also look at how new lighting can help clients save money.
Existing clients include the likes of Ableworld, Fraser Hart and Clarity Copiers, and the firm is currently working on a project with Principality Stadium to use LED to maintain its pitch.
“We want to make your workplace healthier, greener and more profitable. The benefits of taking advantage of the next-generation technology available today are fantastic,” reads the Lightology website.
Jon Davies, founder of Lightology, said he set up the company to explore ways that lighting technology can help businesses. He believes that the appointment of Richard will aid the firm’s growth.
“I passionately believe in taking advantage of new technologies to benefit business, and LED lighting offers fantastic financial and environmental benefits,” said Davies.
“It’s a real pleasure to be able to bring someone of Richard’s calibre on board. He will be key to ongoing success for the company as we expand and diversify.”
