Swansea-based hotel booking platform launches crowdfunding campaign

Swansea-based tech start-up The Booking Factory, which provides a digital solution for hotel booking, has launched a £50,000 crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs.

It’s so far raised over £16,000 of this sum and is looking to give away an 8 per cent equity stake to investors. 41 people have pledged to put money into the growing firm.

The business was founded in 2014 by Evan Davies, who grew up in a family of long-time hoteliers, and is aimed at making things easier for both hoteliers and their guests.

Using the cloud-based system, hotel owners and staff are able to manage their bookings, market their business online and increase revenue as a result.

Evan told Tech Dragons that the last year has been amazing for The Booking Factory, coming out of beta in May and attracting customers from all around the world.

It was also recently selected to take part in Google’s Campus Exchange Week, which saw his team pitch to seasoned tech professionals and get access to invaluable advice.

“It has been an amazing year for us at The Booking Factory, we released our public beta in May 2016 and gained almost 40 customers worldwide,” he said.

“We were selected to join Google’s Campus Exchange Week and were pitching for Best Of British Showcase at Campus London. It had been a super exciting experience and also eye opening on what our next steps needed to be to scale as a company. We are now raising money to make our product world class.”
