Swansea retail tech start-up Veeqo announces appointment
Swansea-based retail tech start-up Veeqo has appointed a new chief revenue officer as it continues to grow.
The firm, which offers an inventory management platform to online sellers, has taken on Jean-Christophe Taunay-Bucalo to aid its growth.
Jean has amassed over 10 years experience working in the SaaS industry, and in this time, he’s helped grow three companies to leading positions worldwide.
Known to many as JC, he has an MBS degree from Audencia Business School in Nante along with an MSC degree in marketing management at Aston University in Birmingham.
He has since worked with the likes of Global SP, Citrix and most notably Vend HQ. Within his role of CRO at Vend HQ from 2011, he increased the company’s valuation from $1.5m to over $150m.
During this time, Vend’s overall revenue grew at a rate of 200 per cent per year, and its team increased from 5 employees to a staggering 180 – all in five years.
Veeqo says JC’s experience is valuable to its future and says he’ll help it develop a better product for customers while boosting revenue per year.
He said: “I wanted to work for a company, with a great team, solving a big problem. Veeqo already has a strong customer base and I have been amazed by the customer’s feedback, they were raving about it”.
“The online experience is not always as good as it should be. The underlying issue is the absence of an integrated solution for inventory, omnichannel and shipping and this is exactly what Veeqo intends to solve.”
“There is nothing more satisfying for me than helping a young talented team become more proficient in SaaS. It creates an amazing eco-system which will ultimately benefit everyone. I have seen it in action in New Zealand with Xero, Vend, Timely and others”.
