Swansea telecoms firm completes contract for health equipment manufacturer

A Swansea-based telecoms firm has fitted life-saving equipment specialist BCB International with a new communications system as part of expansion plans.

SA1 Telecoms recently completed a contract for the company by providing a new Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) set-up, which will help BCB International to expand its business.

The manufacturer approached SA1 Telecoms to support it with moving its communications infrastructure to a new site. It faced a number of challenges, such as maintaining contact numbers.

It’s now using 40 handsets of multiple varieties, including video-enabled devices for members of the leadership team and cordless phones for the warehouse.

However, to cut costs, BCB is still going to use some of its existing hardware, and SA1 Telecoms has provided the company’s employees with VoIP system training to give them full control and flexibility over the hardware.

Ben Simmons, international sales manager at BCB International, said the firm now has the technological capabilities to be able to accelerate growth.

Having a simple to use and up-to-date communications system is key to our business, which is why we consulted with SA1 Telecoms when it came to moving site,” he commented.

“Their friendly and knowledgeable technicians provided their time and advice for free. We now have a future-proof telephone system, plus the best internal network that functions seamlessly with minimum downtime. It was an excellent decision to use SA1 Telecoms and one I have and will continue to recommend.”

Simon Ahearne, managing director of SA1 Telecoms, said BCB was constrained by old and costly telecoms systems. But it now has more reliable, streamlined infrastructure.

“The main issued faced by BCB International was that the company was moving location and to keep its existing BT system and its phone numbers, it would have cost a lot of money,” he explained.

“However, through understanding exactly what was needed, we were able to provide BCB with a cost-effective alternative and use some of the company’s existing hardware so there was no unnecessary upfront expenditure.

Ahearne added: “SA1 Telecoms has seen substantial growth of late from working with so many businesses across the South West region, particularly in Cardiff, to install leading VoIP telephony systems.

“This validation of the quality service that SA1 Telecoms can provide has helped us to offer a one-stop-shop for communications services, which offers businesses greater efficiency and convenience.”
