Tech firm announces partnership with Welsh Data Science Graduate Programme

Recruitment technology firm Talent Ticker has teamed up with the Welsh Contact Centre Forum to educate the next generation of data scientists.

Working alongside 14 other companies, Talent Ticker will provide three students with placements as part of the Data Science Graduate Programme.

The structured work placements will take place at the firm’s offices in Cardiff city centre over two years and will count towards the students’ achievement of an MSc in Data Science delivered by the University of South Wales.

Launched in 2018, the scheme is supported by EU funding and is aimed at helping Wales develop a high-class pool of data scientists. Students will develop a range of practical and theoretical skills, while also learning about company culture.

Programme Manager Rowena O’Sullivan said:  “This programme has been specifically designed to attract and retain top graduates with the chance to start their careers via a unique pathway that is only available in Wales.

“We are delighted to be working with Talent Ticker on this project as they offer a unique and exciting environment as a tech startup for graduates to be part of.”

Talent Ticker’s head of technology Aled Jones commented: “I’m very proud to be working with the Welsh Contact Centre Forum on such a unique programme and keeping talent in Wales.

“I only wish there had been such a scheme years ago after I did my degree in Wales. It’s great to be inspiring the next generation and part of something so prestigious, as Data Science becomes more of a crucial  role within our society.”
