Tech startup launches beauty comparison website
Glamdeva, a beauty company based in Cardiff, has launched an online beauty booking platform this week.
The website allows people to search, compare and instantly book hair and makeup artists in their local area, offering access to hundreders of providers.
It’s the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Gurinder Randeva, who is on a mission to transform the online beauty industry and who has been described as “a pioneer in the digital economy”.
Developed by a team of in-house technology experts, the company caters for both last-minute bookings and reservations that have been made in advance.
According to the company, the software “offers a simple, user-friendly interface for customers to book mobile treatments via cutting-edge technology” and will locate a range of experts in “less than 30 seconds”.
“The idea of an online marketplace came from my experience in searching for hair and make-up artists for events and occasions which led me to explore the industry for an online booking platform. During my research, I found very little which compares prices instantly or gives various options.”
Glamdeva said interest in the platform is growing, with 2,000 Instagram followers and over 200 professionals having already signed up.
One freelance makeup artist said: “I am incredibly excited to be adding my services to Glamdeva. Not having a great budget for marketing, the online platform will make sure people know what I have to offer.
“I can now also rely on the software to log all my payments, gather reviews for my business and communicate with customers. It is pretty much all I need.”
