Video production company announces expansion plans

Storm & Shelter, a leading video production company based in Cardiff, has appointed a new creative director as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

Aiming to become one of the leading production firms in the UK,  it’s announced the appointment of Jess Gardner as a strategic management-level hire to focus on supplying engaging video content.

As the company’s new creative director, Jess will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of an effective creative process at the firm.

The firm is looking to build on the quality of its creative output, push into new markets and establish effective relationships with key clients such as BT, Yamaha and H&M.

Jess returns to her hometown of Cardiff after a stint working as a creative producer at Red Bull Media House in Austria. She’s also a former producer and director at QVC.

Throughout her career, she’s had the opportunity to work on campaigns for Breast Cancer Care, Dyson, Bose and Clogau Gold, developing her expertise in content presentation.

Over the past few years, Storm & Shelter has emerged as one of Wales’s leading creative agencies. It’s now expanding its production capabilities and signing up new talent within a strategic rolling development plan.

Over a hundred people applied for the position, but Jess’ experience stood out. Gruff Vaughan, managing director of the firm, said: “We’ve made some huge strides in the past few years and we’re looking to build on the household names that we work with.

“Jess’ CV not only ticked those boxes but her experience in directing and producing far surpassed anything we had hoped for in a new recruit. We were unsure if our ideal person even existed, but as soon as Jess came through the door we knew we were on to a winner.”

“We were looking for someone with a good balance of creativity and level-headedness, which is important when managing a creative team; someone that would push the creative output whilst keeping the client’s best interests at heart.”

Jess said: “The main attraction to Storm & Shelter is the calibre of work they are producing. I was totally blown away. Once I’d had a chat with them, I was incredibly impressed with the team and knew immediately that I really wanted to get on board.

“They were so warm and welcoming, as well as being some of the most hardworking and passionate professionals I’ve ever met.

“I am incredibly optimistic about the impact we can make going forward in this exciting and developing worldwide market.”
