We Build Bots eyes up £1 million investment raise
We Build Bots, an artificial intelligence company based in Cardiff, has launched a £1 million funding round to continue its foray into the public sector.
The firm, which develops chatbots for a range of different purposes and industries, will use the funds to launch to new products and accelerate growth. Last year, it raised £575,000 from more than 300 investors through Seedrs.
Founded in 2016, the firm uses natural language processing and machine learning to build chatbot platforms for use by customer service departments.
It’s helping an array of organisations take advantage of artificial intelligence and chatbot systems, including Sport Wales. The firm designed a chatbot to help increase participation in sport and connect teams with clubs.
Paul Shepherd, founder and CEO of We Build Bots, told Tech Dragons: “Since last year’s seed round, we’ve grown sale x 10, tripled in team size, picked up some great awards and coverage – including Forbes and BBC – and started to make a real dent in the world of public sector automation.
“The round will help us grow our position in the UK, bring two new automation products to market and further our US investigations.”
