Wedding comparision website launches in Wales
A start-up aimed at making wedding planning easier has launched in Wales and doubled its initial sign-up expectations after months of development.
Getting organised for that big day is traditionally known to be one of the most stressful times in life, but CompareMyWedding.com is looking to take all the stresses away.
The company does this by providing a unique wedding planning service for budding newlyweds, and it prides itself on being the liaison between its customers and supplier.
Despite only just launching, the website has surpassed its expected target of sign-ups by more than 200% and has already established contracts with suppliers such as caterers, venues and wedding guest accommodation on a global level.
For example, it recently formed a partnership with The Palm Hotel in Dubai. The firm also has ambitions to accelerate growth by teaming up with the likes of Debenhams – another supplier that is an affiliate of CompareMyWedding.com.
While the main focus of the website is to feature large and well-established suppliers from across the world, it also aims to support local, smaller businesses to give them a platform to promote their services.
It was founded by Lauren Evans, from the Bishopston area of Swansea. Having began her career in the industry as a wedding photographer, she understands the difficulty of standing out to customers, especially if you’re a freelancer or a start-up.
She said that CompareMyWedding.com could be a platform for all manner of suppliers to promote their services and show potential customers a portfolio of their work.
Evans said: “I am overwhelmed by the success and support CompareMyWedding.com has received since its launch just a month ago.
“We are thrilled with the amount of suppliers that have already signed up to our system. We now have such a diverse and wide range of suppliers consisting of caterers, venues, photographers, videographers, florists, entertainment, catering and more. The list keeps growing – it’s all quite unbelievable.
“Our system is unique in the fact that it allows customers to message every supplier that meets their requirements in one quick step – rather than message them all individually – which takes excess time and stress.
She added: “Our aim is to take the stress out of wedding planning and instead, make it a memorable and enjoyable process. This is definitely one of our main USPs, and I’m excited to watch the business continue to grow.”
