North Wales tech firm achieves prestigious industry certification
Pinacl, a technology company based in North Wales, has been awarded with a prestigious industry certification.
The St Asaph-headquartered firm is the first small business to receive the Cisco IoT Authorization certification, which was launched earlier in the year.
This accreditation is given to Cisco partners that have demonstrated significant capabilities when it comes to making the Internet of Things deployments. It comes as the company has installed smart city technologies in York, Aberdeen and Newport successfully.
Alasdair Rettie, technical director at Pinacl, said: “Cisco’s IoT Partner Authorization lets Pinacl’s customers know that the company excels at deploying IoT networks and solutions. This will enhance our Smart City rollouts and enable us to offer resilient IoT coverage for customers.”
As part of the selection process, the firm’s IoT technical and pre-sales team had to attend a specialist training course and complete exams to demonstrate their knowledge.
Pinacl said the accreditation will also bolster IoT in Scotland following the announcement earlier this month that it had joined forces with Glasgow-based Boston Networks to create a £50million business.
Rob Bardwell, CEO of Pinacl, said: “We embarked on our IoT journey two years ago, driving the opportunities for the technology across a number of sectors. Cisco’s endorsement of our skills allows us to accelerate its proliferation together.”
