Verification tech start-up appoints new non-executive director

Vince Corley, who formerly managed Countrywide’s estate agency business, has become a non-executive director at verification technology start-up Credas.

The Cardiff-based tech firm is using pioneering facial recognition software to speed up verification for the property industry, and Corley’s appointment is aimed at accelerating growth further.

Over the past few years, the company has developed a suite of products to cut the time and cost it takes verify over 4000 types of identification by using real-time facial recognition.

A first-of-its-kind business in the UK, Credas provides estate agents with the ability to remotely verify essential ID documents and match the photos to people through an app.

Corely left Countrywide in February and joined the fast-growing Welsh tech start-up in October. He’s working alongside Nick Dunning and associates as head of sales and financial services.

On Vince’s appointment to Credas’ board, its CEO Rhys David said: “We are thrilled that Vince has decided to join the Credas team to help us with our strategic growth plans for the coming year.

“Having someone with Vince’s experience and knowledge is a great boost for us. His understanding of our product and the difference it can make to the property and lettings market is very validating and we can’t wait to start working with him.”

Speaking about his new position at Credas, Vince said: “What I love about Credas is the difference it can make to the customer experience. Customers are often put off by the verification hoops they have to go through to rent or buy a new home. Credas solves all of these problems in a simple app-based solution.

“The cutting edge facial recognition technology Credas uses is amazing and the integration of this product into agents’ systems will alleviate the administrative burden and time wasted for both agents and customers alike. It is a game changer in the market and I’m proud to help take the business to the next stage.”

Credas’s technology is being used in a range of markets, including recruitment, financial services and any business which needs to verify ID to comply with regulations. And the app works on both iOS and Android.
